Taking place on October 28th, the fourth genesis EXPO focused on how Low-Code application platforms (LCAPs) are helping CIOs meet the insatiable appetite for software, win the talent war and gain a competitive advantage in the Sell-Side.
This month, the genesis team was joined by special guests Celent, the leading research and advisory firm focused on technology for financial institutions globally.
See the video highlights from the latest Low-Code EXPO:
Company Update from James Harrison
The show kicked off with James Harrison, COO & Co-Founder, giving an update on the latest developments at genesis and across the market.
A key highlight from James was the exciting news that Citi have become a strategic investor for genesis, enabling the firm to achieve even more – including the acceleration of its platform tooling.
LCAP Upload with Ray Chee
Next up was the LCAP Upload section of the show, this month featuring Ray Chee, Head of Solutions Delivery for genesis.
He took us behind the scenes of the genesis LCAP itself, exploring how it has been specifically designed for creating and solving complex, high-performance financial services solutions.
LCAP Download with Brad Bailey of Celent
The special guest for this month’s EXPO was Brad Bailey, Director of Capital Markets for Celent. He joined Felipe Oliveira, Head of Sales & Marketing for genesis, to discuss the business drivers and challenges for Sell-Side firms going into 2021.
Among many insights, Brad emphasised the need for firms to develop a clear methodology for using their data. The businesses set to perform in 2021 are those who are not wasting their data.
For him, this is where Low-Code creates an incredible opportunity for the Sell-Side. The question he posed was: Why rebuild everything?
When firms are trying to get the right data, in the right form, to the right people at the right time, they have to think about the speed and agility they can achieve by not reinventing the wheel each time they develop new software.
LCAP In Action with James Ferguson
Joining the In Action section of this month’s EXPO, James Ferguson, Head of New Business Development, took us through a demonstration of the Trade Allocation Manager (TAM); part of the extensive genesis application library.
Highlighting the need for financial markets firms to increase productivity and reduce operational costs, James showcased how genesis has created a ready-built application for Sell-Side businesses to achieve this through automation of their middle office workflows.
